Young rock band from Moon builds momentum with debut single, strong chemistry and big ambitions.

Soul Dive has been described as an alternative rock band, blending punk revival and post-grunge influences. But perhaps more important than their unique sound is the chemistry between the four musicians, who transition seamlessly on stage, weaving their vocals and instrumentation into a driving rhythm.
Luca Becker provides the vocals and guitar, Christiano Kinol also plays guitar, Santino Kinol is on drums and keyboard, and Rylan Ivanisin plays bass. Three of them are from Moon, with Rylan hailing from nearby Ambridge.
Luca, Christiano and Santino met through a mutual friend and started jamming the very same night for an instant connection. Rylan later joined after he and Luca met through Dave Granati’s For Those About to Rock Academy.
The band has played at Launch Music Conference, Millvale Music Festival, the Northside Music Festival and 565 Live. They have now cut their first single, “Shell of a Man,” which was released June 5. Noted producer, engineer and sound mixer Greg Gordon produced the single. Gordon has worked with musical heavyweights such as Bob Weir (founding member of the Grateful Dead) and Grammy award-winning rock band Greta Van Fleet.
Gordon has been extremely impressed with the group and explains, “Soul Dive reminds me of why I got into record making. Pure, clear energy and the electric drive to harness that passion. Great bands are timeless in any decade, and Soul Dive transcends.”
The band will be releasing a full-length album later this year.
Although Soul Dive has only been playing together for a little over a year, their chemistry is tight and they have a high level of comfort when collaborating onstage. Luca wrote all the music for the first album, though all the guys write and are very creative.
One reason the group has already achieved a lot of success may be the unwavering support they get from their parents.
Jen Ivanisin, Rylan’s mother, says, “We couldn’t be more proud of how hardworking, dedicated and professional these young men are so early on in their musical journey. It’s an honor and privilege to be on the sidelines and help support them any way we can.”
The band loves what they’re doing. They thrive on their chemistry and creating new music that reflects their unique gritty style.
Luca describes the camaraderie: “We love what we do because we get to express our thoughts and feelings in a song and share it with other people and create a community around it. We hope to take our music as far as we can, because we believe in each other as a band.”
It will be exciting to follow the journey of these young musicians as they continue to develop their sound and reach new audiences. For now, they seem to be hitting all the right notes.
