Indian Lake Rehabilitation Project

Senator Kim Ward, and Representative’s Eric Davanzo and Brian Rasel today announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has approved a $660,000 Local Share Account (LSA) grant for the Indian Lake Rehabilitation Project.
This funding, combined with the $665,200 Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) grant awarded earlier this year, fully funds the $1.3 million Indian Lake Park Rehabilitation Project.
The Indian Lake Park Rehabilitation Project will provide significant environmental, recreational, and economic benefits to North Huntingdon Township residents. Dredging the lake and stabilizing streambanks will improve water quality, reduce erosion, and help preserve the long-term health of the park’s natural resources. Repairs to the pedestrian bridge and Kenda Dam will enhance public safety and improve access throughout the park.
Together, these grants have saved North Huntingdon Township taxpayers approximately $1.3 million, allowing the project to move forward without placing additional financial burden on local residents.
The Local Share Account Program is funded through revenues generated under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 71 of 2004). These funds are distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects that serve the public interest across the Commonwealth. Established in 2004, the CFA is an independent agency responsible for administering Pennsylvania’s economic development programs and strategic investments
