Fairs, Festivals and Fundraisers

Born to Golf Tournament

When: July 14

Where: Lakeshore Country Club, 5950 Lake Shore Drive, Erie

Women’s Care Center is hosting the 5th annual Born to Golf Tournament! The day will consist of a picnic lunch before a shotgun start at noon. On-course games and putting contests will add to the fun along with auctions, placement prizes, and giveaways during the buffet dinner.


Brew Bash

When: July 5

Where: Lavery Brewing Company, 128 West 12th Street, Erie

Enjoy some of your favorite Lavery beers and be part of the launch of new brews at this annual fundraiser benefiting the Erie Humane Society. Merch will also be available for purchase. Enter to win prizes, enjoy live music, and spend time with some furry friends.


CorryFest

When: June 12-15

Where: Corry City Park and Downtown Corry

CorryFest will include music, games, crafters, displays, demonstrations, a parade, and fireworks. Join in the fun!


Downtown Edinboro Art & Music Festival

When: May 16-18

Where: Downtown Edinboro

This festival showcases grassroots art and music in the unique spirit of Appalachian culture and tradition. Check out the art show gallery or one of many workshops. Children can enjoy special sing-a-longs and other activities. There will be many pieces of art for sale by local artists. Local musicians and bands will perform in scheduled or spontaneous jam sessions in town.


Erie Beer on the Bay

When: July 26

Where: Liberty Park and Burger King Amphitheater, 726 West Bayfront Parkway, Erie

Don’t miss this premier craft beer event! Beer on the Bay will have plenty of beers, live entertainment, and local vendors.


Erie Blues & Jazz Festival

When: August 2 & 3

This weekend event of free world-class performances began over 30 years ago. Hundreds of national and regional artists will perform on two stages.


Erie County Fair

Erie County Fair, one of the oldest and largest fairs, celebrates its 139th year this summer. Top entertainers, amusement rides, truck and tractor pulls, horse pulls and lots more make this fair fun for the whole family.


Felines & Wines

Get ready for a night like no other at the Erie Zoo’s annual big cat conservation fundraiser. This exclusive 21+ event promises an unforgettable evening of sipping, sampling, and supporting the majestic and loved big cats.


Festival of the Birds

When: May 16-18

Where: Presque Isle Audubon, 301 Peninsula Drive, Erie

Discover the joys of spring migration at the Festival of the Birds at Presque Isle State Park, rated one of the top birding spots in the country by BirdWatching magazine. Field trips to all the hot spots and workshops for every level will be educational and fun for all. This event is limited to 150 attendees and registrations sell out quickly.


German Heritage Fest

Celebrate German culture with great food, music, dancing, merchandise, and of course, beer! The festival is organized by DANK Chapter 71 of Erie and Lake Erie Fanfare.


Glow Wild: Chinese Lantern Festival

When: April 17 through June 15 (Thursday through Sunday only)

Great Lakes Taste of the Summer Wine and Spirits Festival

Lake City Fire Company Carnival

Lake City Fire Company’s Brews and Hoses Brewfest

The Mane Event: Centennial Celebration

When: June 21

This is the mane event of the season at the zoo! Enjoy some food at the grazing stations and quench your thirst at the watering holes. A unique silent auction, live entertainment, and animal encounters will make this a night to remember.


North East Firemen’s Cherry Festival

Rides, slides, sausage subs, fries, and pies await you at the annual North East Firemen’s Cherry Festival. Don’t miss the Cherry Fest Parade along Main Street on Saturday.


Panegyri Greek Festival

When: July 11 & 12

Where: Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 4376 West Lake Road, Erie

Enjoy the full Greek experience! This festival will offer delicious Greek cuisine, pastries, drinks, music, and folk dancing. Vendors will be selling souvenirs, jewelry, handmade icons, and religious items as well.


Paws for Patriots Charity Golf Tournament

When: July 11

Where: Riverside Golf Course, 24527 US-6, Cambridge Springs

Golf enthusiasts and pet lovers are encouraged to grab their clubs and hit the fairways for the Erie Humane Society’s Paws for Patriots Golf Tournament to support the Shelter to Service program. Proceeds from the tournament help offset the cost to train service dogs and match them with deserving veterans in the community, free of charge.


St. Nick’s Food ‘n Cruze

Waterford Heritage Days

Heritage Days will have something for everyone! More than 100 craft vendors, a car show, activities for kids, carriage rides, bounce houses, face painting, raffles, games of chance, and a parade will make this event fun for all. Proceeds benefit the Veterans Miracle Center of Erie.


Wine & Dine in the Woods

UPMC Sunset Music Series

Free live music is set to fill the air at Presque Isle State Park in this popular concert series! Organized by the Presque Isle Partnership and presented by UPMC Health Plan and UPMC Hamot, it takes place at Beach 11 and offers attendees the opportunity to enjoy live bands, local food trucks, ice cream, hula hoop play and extended swimming hours.

Dan Rice Days

The purpose of this celebration is to commemorate the life and times of this multitalented circus performer and owner who eventually made Girard the winter home of his circus, and his family home as well. The event will include food, arts, and crafts.

Mindful Garden Walk: Resting Tree Mindfulness

Celebrate the summer solstice and the everyday awe of Goodell Gardens! Richard Gosnell, Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Leadership guide and astronomy lecturer, will discuss the history and healing power of the gardens. Summer Inspiration

Girard Art Walk

This free event features local artists from Erie County paired with more than 20 local Girard businesses to display their creative work. Wine, beer, food trucks, live music and live poetry readings are also part of the walk.


The Great American Book Sale

There will be bargains galore! More than 75,000 gently used books and media items will be available for purchase, and all proceeds benefit the Erie County Public Library.


Kayak Poker Run

The annual Oars on the Shore event benefits Boro Women Services.


Lake Erie Cyclefest

When: July 24-27

Where: Various locations in Erie County

Experience breathtaking landscapes and Erie County’s abundant natural resources on safe and spectacular routes! Cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in self-supported rides featuring Erie’s vast terrain, along sandy beaches, beautiful forests, vibrant Downtown Erie, and the expansive grape-growing region. Proceeds benefit local charities.


Presque Isle Poker Paddle

Where: Lagoons Boat Launch at Presque Isle State Park

Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards… all paddlers are invited to join Presque Isle Partnership for a day of fun on the waterways. This 5.5-mile poker paddle takes participants on a scenic journey through the Presque Isle lagoons.


Presque Isle Triathlon

The Presque Isle Triathlon is a nonprofit and a total volunteer effort. All segments (swim, bike and run) will start, transition and finish at Beach 10. The course design features a nearly complete and scenic tour of beautiful, historic Presque Isle. All proceeds will benefit Presque Isle State Park and other nonprofits whose volunteers’ time and presence contribute to the success of the event.


Run for Women 5K Run/Walk

When: August 24

Where: Penn State Behrend’s Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Center, 5350 Technology Drive, Erie

Penn State Behrend’s Women’s Engagement Council hosts this 5K Run/Walk, and athletes of all levels are welcome. The 3.1-mile course starts at the manufacturing and innovation center, loops through Knowledge Park on closed roads, and returns to finish in front of the center.


See Spot Ride—Ride for Animal Rescue

When: July 27

Where: 5120 West Road, McKean

This ride takes place on the scenic roads of McKean Township. The routes vary for different ability levels. All rides start at McKean Elementary School and finish at the Because You Care Adoption Center.


Tour de West County

When: July 26

The Tour de West County is one of the region’s oldest and largest cycling events. Beginning and ending at the Asbury Woods Nature Center, participants can choose a 12-, 25-, or 50-mile route winding through rolling hills, meadows and farmlands.


Women’s Care Center 5K Run/Walk for Life Carnival Extravaganza

When: May 31

Where: Pleasant Ridge Park, 8271 Barker Road, Girard

This event is a fundraiser, run/walk and carnival in one! Participate in the 5K Run/Walk for Life and later enjoy carnival food, silent and basket auctions, and lots of games for all ages.
